Perfume Bottle Research Resources

The best resource for perfume bottle research is the International Perfume Bottle Association Lending Library. IPBA members can borrow books and videotapes from among the nearly 200 library items on perfume bottles and vanity items of all types, the history of the fragrance industry, great glass makers, and perfume bottle auction results. A terrific way to research your collection, and you pay only the return postage to the library! The IPBA has created an extensive bibilography of books that members are able to search. A yearly membership also includes wonderful full color quarterly magazines with informative articles, beautiful bottle pictures, and entertaining stories. Cost is $45 annually. Worth it for the quarterlies alone!

Cost for this 2-CD set is $25 which includes priority mail for the USA only. Overseas will be computed as required. This is a 2-CD set of the 30 year perfume library of Helen Farnsworth. The original release price in 2003 was $59.95 per set. Very limited production and out of print since mid 2005.

One CD includes over 159 pieces of archival perfume advertising including 110 catalogs with 2,093 pages representing 122 companies. The other CD is a searchable database of perfume companies with over 26,000 entries. The original catalogs, mostly dating from the mid 19th century to 1973, have been captured exactly as issued. Over 1,400 pages are in full color; the balance in black and white. Database features worldwide coverage including America, France, Italy, Germany, England, Spain, etc. Catalogs can be viewed in various sizes of magnification controlled by user. Files are in PDF format which requires Adobe Reader (preinstalled on almost all computers; also a free download). Works best on PCs; Windows 98SE, 2000, Me, XP; Pentium 350z or faster. In original shrink wrap as manufactured in 2003 complete with separate instruction sheet.
