White Heliotrope by Richard Hudnut
Item JH8: This is a cute little satin glass commercial perfume with its original box. Pretty gold embossed Richard Hudnut logo on the front. The bottle measures 3 1/4" tall. As you can see, at one point, the perfume leaked into the box. The bottle is empty. According to Ken Leach's Perfume Presentation reference section and also Helen Farnsworth Perfume Database, there was a reference to this scent in an 1894 catalogue. It is not known how long this scent was around. In searching Helen's database, the name White Heliotrope in general seems to be most popular mostly from the 1890's through 1920's. This little bottle has some real age to it! A great find for you Hudnut collectors!
