Heaven Scent

If you start with a mini then that multiplies,
Gets bigger and bolder and doubles in size.
We just keep on going and two becomes four,
And over the years we collect even more.

They fill up our cupboards, take over our space,
We need to slow down now in life's fragrant race.
It becomes an "Obsession" and our every thought,
We need to step back and enjoy what we've bought.

With only beer bucks but a real "Champagne" taste,
Our efforts prove endless and may go to waste.
The world is our oyster, no threat to us girls,
We duck and we dive till we find those "Black Pearls".

So we save up the nickels and pocket the dimes,
Skimp on the shopping and learn leaner times.
We wait and we wonder just what we might get,
Hoping one lovely might slip through the net.

They're all very special and make us most proud,
Those delightful designs that stand out in a crowd.
We all have our favourites we store in our head,
Our Darlings, Our Babies, we're all bottle fed.

So here is a sample in my rhyming stew
With thanks to the masters I name but a few.
A "Baccarat" shape with their mark on the base,
Perfection for sure in original case.

What style and what flair from "Rene Lalique",
Such "Passion", such vision, so utterly unique.
The "Baccarat" babes follow hot on his trail,
A price tag to match, leave you looking quite pale.

If "Lalique" is your flavour and that takes your fancy,
You might like some others and even "Daum Nancy".
They come in all shapes and they come in all sizes,
We give them as gifts and award them as prizes.

There's "Coty" and "Caron" and so many "C"'s,
Bottles with birds and those bottles with bees.
If wings of a Dove maybe rattle your cage,
There's amber, there's blue and even green sage.

Watch out for those chips and a miniscule bite,
That stop "Nina's" birdies from taking to flight.
They suffer with damage on their crystal wings,
It causes such sadness, just one of those things.

"White Diamonds" are sparkly but not very real,
A Taylor made dazzler but still a good deal.
For Liz has the money, that dame won't buy trash,
For other poor mortals we don't have the cash.

"Joie" to our "Coeur" and we buy them "With Pleasure",
We box them away and hoard them like treasure.
They pave their own path and wander worldwide,
It's just crystal clear that they fill us with pride.

A "Schiaparelli" candle will help shine the way,
Bring light to your life add a flame to your day.
A "Griffonage" feather so grand and so tall,
Boxed up in a book but might not please all.

If black is your thing there's a "Knight" but no horse,
But you won't find Black Beauty at any race course.
If you feel like a Queen a "Crown's" waiting there,
With assortment of colours so buyer beware.

The "Butterfly Bottle" with golden, glass wings,
"Lalique" with its fairies and mythical things.
We add to our stash till it bursts at the seams,
In search for that beauty, the "Joy" of our dreams

If you prefer leafy there's "Cachet" if you can,
Or "Ciro" has "La La" a cute stopper glass fan.
I mention in passing a "Poison" won't kill,
Might leave you in pain with a medical bill.

No elegant contour with "Grand Amour" name,
We love with a "Passion", we love just the same.
It brings us together and this is so for sure,
Our love of collecting, the designs we adore.

Choosing one bottle on offer for free,
What would you choose, what would it be.
Could you make a choice, could you make a call?
"No" is the answer we just want it all.

Imagine just smelling that sweet joyful juice,
Lift out the stopper let the fragrance run loose.
Might be too risky with a price tag to pay,
If out of "L'Heure Bleue" you sell it some day.

Designs that are splendid, that you'll never own,
You look but don't touch, cause a sigh and a groan
But looking is free and a gift to us all,
So knock yourselves out, go on have a ball.
