Item SL490: Darling tiny powder box sample, complete inside with a tiny framed mirror (excellent). This tin sample was made for Stearns Perfumer of Detroit, Michigan. It features a beautiful woman in 18th C dress, holding a fan. The name of the powder "Suprema" is present on the lid. The product line of "Suprema" was produced in 1901, so the tin is over 100 years old. The sides and base are decorated with a purple background with a gold floral and foliage decoration. The tin (inside and outside) is in excellent condition except for a tiny loss of finish on a small portion of the border around the portrait. Size:2 1/8 x 1 ¾ x ½ in.

Item SL477: C. 1930 Fornells, Paris, signed figural powder box. This is a very colorful piece and quite rare. The powder box was made of urea formaldehyde, designed by Eduard Fornells I Marco (1887 -1942). He is known as the master carver of Andorra (a small country between France and Spain). It was produced by his company, "Editions Fornells" in Paris in 1930. The orange and beige circular powder box has a curved base and domed lid decorated with molded surrealistic flowers which may be poppies. The base has the impressed Fornells mark in the center (inside). Excellent condition, with no damage. Size: 4.25" at the widest portion; 2.5" high. Item GD38: The Noritake Porcelain House in the early 20th century created a lot of different hand painted items for sale abroad. Among these items they made puff boxes to hold milady's powder puff. This particular one was made as a souvenir for Standing Rock, Wisc. Dells. Depicted on the box is a lady with a peacock fan and colonial dress. These boxes were shallow and the lids were made to just lift off so that you would have easy access to the puff inside. The lady is painted on a luster finish and the lid measures 4 1/4" in diameter. It has the Noritake brown mark. A beautiful objet d'artes.

Item GD7: Charming unopened Art Deco Outdoor Girl Face Powder with scenes of women playing sports. The sports represented are golf, swimming tennis, equestrian. Item SL423: This is an absolute treasure of a powder box. It is Molinard's "Habinita" featuring three mermaids in whimsical poses. There are clouds of gold. Red accents complete the design. The top reads "Habinita Molinard Grasse Paris." The base is marked "Made in France" and the color "Blanche". Empty of contents. Condition is very good--the top being extremely good; the base has the usual wear around the rim and it is lightly soiled on the base. Although not 100% perfect, the graphics are stunning and they rarely come along.

Atop, there is a great raised design of a swansdown powder puff with a silver handle. It is a perfumed powder a' 5 Fleurs", with the shade being "Ocre Rosef". The box was "Made in France." The contents are perfectly covered with paper and a "window" of cellophane to see the light pink tinted powder.
