DEFINITION: "Fake!" But to be more precise, a factice is a bottle made for the purpose of display, not for sale. It is considered to be a "dummy" instead of the real thing. Factices come in a variety of sizes from small to giant. Most collectors prefer the giant size. Factices don't have real perfume or cologne in them (with a few exceptions); usually they are filled with a solution made to resemble the real perfume. The glass itself may be of the same quality as the bottles filled with perfumes but the contents are not. Factices are advertising pieces.

Factice: This is such a unusual bottle. When first seen, it
looks like an ordinary bottle of DKNY but on a closer look this is indeed
the deluxe version. Very heavy glass with a sleek modern look.
The bottom of the bottle is numbered which makes me think that these
special bottles were a numbered edition. I have only ever seen one
other for sale on Ebay. I was told that this beautiful bottle was
obtained from an I. Magnin employee in the mid 90's during the stores
closing days. It appears to be hand painted & numbered on the base. It
also has a pontil bottom which indicates it may be hand blown. It
